Today’s the day we head back to America! It is 5:40 a.m. on Sunday, June 14, 2015 when I am writing this. I am currently in Beijing, China (how cool is that?!). My team and I are due to depart Beijing at 10:10 a.m. today and arrive in Chicago at 10:10 a.m. on Sunday, June 14, 2015… this is going to be the longest day of my life. Literally. Like 48 hours long. For those of you who wish you could only have a few more hours in your day to get more stuff done, I think I’m going to find that it’s not worth it! Haha.
Anyways, I’m sorry that I didn’t post on here, or anywhere for that matter, throughout the week. Both Facebook and Gmail were blocked, and internet was pretty unpredictable. In addition, we kept ourselves so busy that when we had “free time,” most of us spent it sleeping!
Overall this trip was lovely, hard, gripping, convicting, eye-opening, and has left me with questions and wanting to do it all over again. I am excited to get home, sleep, and try to readjust to Central Time (which is 13 hours behind Beijing time: when y’all have been sleeping, I’ve been awake living the next day). I would really enjoy getting to chat with anyone who is interested about what I did while over here in this beautiful country.
Prayers for a safe, smooth, quick, not-delayed flight is appreciated. Also, please pray for our team: we have become SO close and I know that it is going to be extremely difficult to say goodbye. That is absolutely true for me. It’s an answered prayer, really, but now I have to deal with the fact of goodbyes, which I hate with a passion. Lastly, please continue to pray for this country, its people, and orphans the world over.
Thank you all for your patience with me as I have been practically unreachable for the past week. Thanks for your prayers as well.
Blessed to know and be known by each and every one of you. In His Love, Audrey
